al posto di Regenschori in Cattedrale di S. Vito, Venceslao e Adalberto
Choir of Prague was founded with the arrival of Josef Kica in post
of Regenschori in the Cathedral of S. Vito, Venceslao e Adalberto in Prague.
The choir performs regularly during cathdral liturgies and its nucleus is composed of members of the Prague Loreto Choir.
The choir seeks to uphold the traditions of the great Prague choirs of the past.
The choir's repertoire is orientated towards Czech music (A.Dvorák: Messa D-Dur, Z. Fibic: Missa Brevis) as well as well known masses ( A.Caldara: Missa concertata - "Spei Firmae", Missa dolorosa, C. Franck: Missa A-dur) as well as rienforcing the participation of of the people in the liturgy following the Vatican II Council (Propria P.Eben, Z. Popolanik, V. Halek, M. mid, ecc.). The choir has participated in the prestigious Festival of Sacred Music and has given performances of music by Baroque composers (A. Caldara, J.D. Zelenka: Requiem C-moll). Their vocal soloists have participated in the Prague Spring Festival in 2000. (J,S. Bach: Jesu, Meine Freude). They are conducted by their choir master and organist, J. Kica.
