È nata nel 1992 dallinteresse
di un gruppo di persone appassionate di canto corale e desiderose di
contribuire alla crescita culturale del territorio. E composta
da un numero varabile di elementi, a seconda del repertorio. La direzione
artistica è affidata fin dalla nascita al M°Maurizio Sparagna.
Ha in repertorio brani che spaziano dalla Polifonia del 500 a
brani del periodo classico, da brani tratti da opere liriche fino agli
Spirituals, alla musica leggera e ai canti tradizionali. Ha avuto modo
di esibirsi in diverse occasioni tra le quali ricordiamo lesibizione
al Grand Hotel Palazzo della Fonte di Fiuggi, la partecipazione ad una
cerimonia commemorativa davanti ad alte cariche dello Stato, lesibizione
nella chiesa di S. Maria Novella in Firenze, nella Chiesa degli artisti
a piazza del Popolo. Ha tenuto concerti a Roma, sotto l'egida della
Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri. Collabora con diverse orchestre
tra le quali la Nova Amadeus, Lorchestra regionale
Campana, LOrchestra Pro Arte, lorchestra regionale del Lazio,
con le quali hanno presentato il Gloria, il Credo,
Beatus vir di Vivaldi, il Te Deum K 141, i Vespri Solenni
de Confessore K.139, Requiem K 626 di Mozart, il Messia di Haendel,
lo Stabat Mater di Rossini.
choir was founded in 1992 by a group of people interested in coral singing
and in contributing to the cultural growth of the area. It is composed
of a variable number of members, depending on the repertoire performed.
The group has been directed by Mr Maurizio Sparagna since its foundation.
Their repertoire includes pieces that range from Renaissance polyphony to classical pieces, from lyric opera to spirituals, from light music to traditional songs.
The group has performed on numerous occasions in public, including a performance at the Grand Hotel Palazzo at Fonte di Fiuggi, at a commemorative ceremony for state officials, a performance in the Church of S. Maria Novella in Florence, in the artists church in Piazza del Popolo. They have held concerts in Rome, under the aegis of the President of the Council of Ministers. They have collaborated with various orchestras, including Nova Amadeus, the Campana Regional Orchestra, the Orchestra Pro Arte, the Lazio Regional Orchestra, with whom it performed the Gloria, the Credo and the Beatus vir by Vivaldi, the Te Deum K 141, the Vespri Solenni de Confessore K.139, the Requiem K 626 by Mozart, Handels Messiah, and the Stabat Mater by Rossini.

Maurizio Sparagna completed his musical studies at the L.Refice Conservatory in Frosinone, gaining a diploma in pianoforte, composition, orchestral conducting and choir mastership. Alongside his musical studies he gained a degree in musicology at the University of Bologna. He has taken part in several courses in composition, choir mastership and conducting (international courses with Ivan Kuchukarov, Vram Tchifcthian, Piero Bellugi, Gustav Khun, Adone Zecchi, Domenico Cieri, Salvatore Sciarrino, Giacomo Manzoni etc.).
He is the composer of several pieces, both for traditional performers and for electronic equipment, some of which have been published. His music, as well as some of his performances, have been recorded on CD.
He has worked extensively as choir master and conductor, holding concerts both in Italy and internationally.
He has directed some prestigious international orchestras, the Bulgarian State Orchestra, very well received by the critics, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Radio Orchestra, the Swan Orchestra of Stratford, the Tirana Opera Theatre Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the La Monnet theatre in Brussels. He has toured in Spain, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Belgium, Great Britain, etc. In Italy he has directed many symphonic and choral performances with the Symphony Orchestra of Verona, the Rome Philharmonic Orchestra, the Genoa Spazio Musica Orchestra, the Lazio Regional Orchestra, the Campana Regional Orchestra, the Pro Arte Orchestra, the Nova Amadeus Orchestra of Rome, and the Filarmonici Romani. He has been concert master and musical director in several operatic productions: Rossinis Barber of Seville, Puccinis Madame Butterfly, Donizzettis Don Pasquale and Elisir damore, Verdis Rigoletto and Traviata, Mozarts Nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni. He was recognised by the Aureliano Centre for Musical Activities in Rome for his direction of the Coro di voci Bianche. He has conducted at broadcast concerts held in the RAI Auditorium at the Foro Italico as well as at the Europa Festival of contemporary music.
He has written various articles and essays on musical criticism and history, published in newspapers and books. He has also conducted research into popular music, in Lazio in particular. He also teaches regularly.
